New models for female entrepreneurship explored

"Please try my pueraria powder! You can scan my QR code to talk to me by Wechat, and I will offer you a gift." said Zhao Xiangqu, a shop owner of the home-made pueraria powder products, when promoting her shop to customers at the "Internet +female" entrepreneurship fair held at the Cultural Square of Weidou Community of Qijiashan Street of Beilun District.

With the flourishing of the Internet, an increasing number of women are realizing their entrepreneur dreams with the major E-commerce platforms, which provide them with new chances for starting their own business.

Since the beginning of this year, the Weidou Community has become a pilot community for the "Internet +female" entrepreneurship campaign. Based on the store sales and the online platforms, it has made great efforts to explore the new models for female entrepreneurship and has greatly promoted the female employment and supported female entrepreneurs.

 

At the fair, over 50 female entrepreneurs showed their online products to the customers, including cosmetics, featured farm produce and woven handicrafts, and communicated with the other females with the intentof starting their own businesses. 

According to Cao Xiaobo, Depurty-director of the community, under the background of the "mass entrepreneurship and innovation", the community has developed new business patterns which have greatly stimulated the female entrepreneurs for further efforts in starting businesses. However, many of them have to face the difficulties of lack of knowledge and start-up capital. To help more female entrepreneurs, the Qijiashan Street has launched the female E-commerce trainning program since July 2015. In addtiion, the street will continue to provide more support to the female entrepreneurs in terms of trainnign and projects
