Import of consumer goods increased rapidly

It has been learned that consumer goods imported from the Ningbo port in the first half of 2013 reached a value of ＄260 million, an increase of 8.9% compared with the same period of 2012. The increasing speed is 5.9% higher than that of the same period of last year.
The first three import markets of China are EU, Association of Southeast Asian Nations(ASEAN) and South Korea. Food products, taking 55.2% of the import goods, rank first, and value of food products reaches＄140 million, with an increase of 9.3%. Among food products, wine, aquatic products, fruits and snacks are the most popular. The value of aquatic products(mainly tuna，salmon and frozen shrimp), for example, has reached＄56.87 million, increasing by 24.4% over the same period. The main trade partners include South Korean, Thailand, Mexico and 30 other countries and regions
