Ningbo government signed with China Telecom (Zhejiang Branch) an implementation agreement on the smart-city strategic cooperation project, agreeing on building the green cloud computing industry base jointly, to speed up the intelligent application, development and promotion, and to promote the construction of the intelligent high speed information network. In the meanwhile, Ningbo center of China Telecom (Zhejiang Branch) on cloud computing was signed and scheduled to settle down in Zhenhai District.
The cooperation project mainly covers three areas: firstly, to build the “cloud valley”. The total investment on the cloud-computing project for the Ningbo sub-center is expected to be more than 1 billion yuan. Together with the implementation of some other related projects, this project aims to promote the accumulative development of such 100 million-yuan emerging industries as regional cloud computing, Internet of things, and cultural creativity, and to attract the settlement of 100 billion-yuan Internet enterprises in Ningbo. Secondly, to speed up the application and promotion of intelligence industry. The project will stimulate the growth of information consumption, and plan to construct the achievement issuing base for intelligent application, application base, foreign exchange base, science popularization base and practice base. Thirdly, to accelerate the construction of intelligente high-speed information network. The project will speed up the construction of the fiber optic network, next-generation Internet and 4G network, realize the coverage of wireless broadband high-speed information network, and actively promote the merging of the three networks, the pilot construction of Internet of Things, and the application of wireless broadband.
