ECFA Imports into Ningbo Ports Rank the First Place in China

Chemical materials, mechanical products, textiles, fruits, tea, mountain bikes…Taiwan products entering into Ningbo are diversified and the early harvest program of ECFA becomes an important “bonus” for Ningbo-Taiwan trading.
According to the statistics released by Ningbo Customs, in the first half of 2014, Ningbo ports have imported 837,100 tons of ECFA goods originated in Taiwan, which value $1.249 billion with 330 million yuan of tax cuts. The amount of ECFA goods imported in Ningbo accounts for 30% of that of the nation in total in the same period of time and ranks the first place in China.
In the near future, as the “Cross-strait Customs Electronic Information Exchange System” being put into practice, Ningbo-Taiwan trading will be prominently powered up. On July 1, with the assistance of the system, the staff of Ningbo Customs successfully checked the information of 16.4-ton imported goods from Taiwan which were declared by Ningbo Great Leisure Products Company Limited and finished the clearance formality.
Information came that this system was developed under the first cooperation of cross-strait Customs and was launched officially on April 1, 2014. On the one hand, through real-time transmission of goods information, it can alleviate the staff efforts needed for verifying their authenticity. On the other hand, through regulation of goods declaration, it can improve the customs clearance efficiency of ECFA goods.
