Commodity markets volume surpassing 44.4 billion yuan

In 2012, with the overall objective of steady supply and price, and the commodity markets in Cixi County showed a continuingly stable development. By actively dealing with the serious and complex economic situation, speeding up their improvement and transformation, making more efforts in innovation and expansion, the markets strengthened their services.
There are 149 commodity trading markets of various kinds in Cixi County. In 2012, the total volume of the markets reached 44.459 billion yuan, up by 17.6% over the same period of last year, and an increase of 6.7 percentage points over the first half of 2012 and 9.5 percentage points over 2011. It increased by 11.67% over the same period of last year (excluding the non-comparable factors), an increase of 3.6 percentage points over the previous year.
The key commodity markets played a leading role in the trade, being not only the leaders but also the "booster" of all the markets. Statistics show that in December 2012, the total volume of the 18 key commodity markets reached 2.934 billion yuan. Their total volume of 2012 even reached 25.169 billion yuan. Five of the markets, including Cixi Agricultural and Subsidiary Products Wholesale Market, Cixi Industrial Products Wholesale Market, Zhouxiang Food Wholesale Market, Shengshan Clothes and Fabric Wholesale Market and the Yangtze River Delta Oil Market, realized a volume of two billion yuan respectively, and the total volume reached 19.402 billion yuan. Among them, the biggest volume belonged to Cixi Agricultural and Subsidiary Products Wholesale Market, standing at 6.437 billion yuan.
In 2012, the Used Motor Vehicle Trade Market was the busiest. Statistics show that the trade volume of the market reached 789 million yuan, up by 26.7% over the previous year, with a growth rate ranking No.1 among the 18 key markets.
