First batch of city-level export bases of Ningbo made known

The foreign economic and trade bureau announced the third batch of export based of Ningbo a couple of days ago. The list includes the vegetable export base, bearing export base and lighter export base of Cixi. It’s learned that the city-level export base will be under key support of the government and be turned into a demo base of foreign trade transformation that enjoys a series of preferential policies.
To promote the agglomeration of trading businesses, the foreign trade bureau and the finance bureau jointly issued a document at the end of 2010 on appraisal and election of city-level export base. According to the document, a trade cluster area with export volume of no less than two billion USD, with a sound industrial chain and a supporting system and with a yearly output of no less than 20 billion yuan is eligible to apply for recognition as a comprehensive city-level export base. And an industrial cluster with relatively high concentration in some field can apply for a city-level special export base.
The third batch of the city-level export bases announced this time are all special export bases, with a total number of 11, accounting for 27% of the total export bases in Ningbo. This is the biggest number of export bases ever approved in Ningbo. So far, Cixi has five city-level export bases, which ranks the first among all counties, county-level cities and districts of Ningbo.
According to the investment promotion bureau, they will exercise a dynamic management of the export bases. The bases will be checked on a regular basis. Some practices short of standards will be ordered to rectify and the export base could be delisted.
