Dongqian Lake Listed as National Leisure Resort

It is learned from China National Tourism Administration on October 9 that Dongqian Lake was successfully listed in the first batch of National Tourism Leisure Resort with other 16 tourist resorts. 
In 2008, the Administrative Committee of Dongqian Lake Tourist Resort put forward a goal to turn itself into “One Resort and Three Bases”. One Resort refers to national tourism leisure resort and three bases are famous leisure base in the Yangtze River Delta, important international conference base in east China and international high-end economic headquarter base. Since August 2009, Dongqian Lake Tourist Resort has fully achieved the leapfrog development of leisure tourism industry by catching the opportunity of participating in making new standards of national tourism leisure resorts. In the first half of 2015, China National Tourism Administration formally issued the notice of selecting National Tourism Leisure Resort. The preparations for applying for title of the Resort entered the home stretch.
The China National Tourism Administration received more than 60 applications. Experts eventually selected 17 tourist resorts after referring to the new standards of National Tourism Leisure Resorts, on-site inspection and hearing work reports from tourist resorts.
Peng Decheng, director of Planning and Finance Bureau of China National Tourism Administration said on October 9 that the National Tourism Administration are striving to make the National Tourism Leisure Resort a new card for our tourism leisure industry and make it another gold brand apart from the 5A level scenic spots in tourism industry.
The other 16 National Tourism Leisure Resorts are Changbai Mountain in Jilin Province, Tangshan Hot Springs in Jiangsu Province, Tianmu Lake in Jiangsu Province, Yangchenghu Peninsula in Jiangsu Province, Taihu Lake in Zhejiang Province, Xianghu Lake in Zhejiang Province, Phoenix Island in Shandong Province, Haiyang in Shandong Province, Yaoshan Hot Springs in Henan Province, Wudang Tai Chi Lake in Hubei Province, Huitang Hot Springs in Hunan Province, Eastern Overseas Chinese town in Guangdong Province, Xiannvshan Mountain in Chongqing, Qionghai Lake in Sichuan Province, Yangzonghai Lake in Yunnan Province and Xishuangbanna in Yunnan Province. 
During the National Day, Dongqian Lake Tourist Resort received a total of 300,000 tourist arrivals, half of which were leisure trips around the lake. 
In recent years, Dongqian Lake Tourist Resort has strengthened its ecological protection. Dongqian Lake Tourist Resort has become more attractive, especially the 45- kilometer shoreline, attracting numerous tourists.
