“Industrial brains” are leading the accelerated transformation and upgrading of Ningbo’s manufacturing industry. Recently, it was learned from Ningbo Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology that the “mold (metal) industrial brain”, the “chemical industrial brain”, and the “clothing industrial brain” of Ningbo have been successfully selected into the provincial list of “best industry brains” in 2023, accounting for 30% of the province.
The industrial brain, in short, is a knowledge center formed by processing data of governments, enterprises, and industries, then extracting and generating digital basic units such as process technology, operation management, industrial knowledge and models, and at last aggregating them. It is a bridge connecting the government and the market, as well as a smart brain that comprehensively grasps and analyzes information, make judgement, and give warnings.
Taking the clothing industrial brain. With this brain, government departments can grasp the real-time operation situation of the industry and implement precise policies, and enterprises can also enjoy one-stop software services and a series of extended services through various application scenarios.
On the government side, the industrial chain map makes it possible to understand the various connections between enterprises, identify the strengths and weaknesses of the development of the industrial chains, and provide accurate investment strategies for the next step of the textile and clothing industry in Ningbo, as well as know timely the per mu added value of enterprises, thus achieving precise governance of various types of enterprises.
The mold (metal) industrial brain builds a data bridge between the government and enterprises, to create seven application scenarios including dynamic scheduling, mold enterprise brain, digital asset evaluation, and digital twin factories, and to form a real-time dynamic analysis of the entire production process of mold enterprises. At present, 50 mold enterprises in Beilun District have completed digital transformation, with their production efficiency increasing by over 25% and production error rates reducing by at least 15%.
The chemical industrial brain not only can provide accurately the detailed data of geographic information, output value, and energy consumption of chemical industrial parks in the province, but also the industrial chain map, per mu efficiency, production safety, environmental protection, operation analysis, risk warning, industrial map, energy consumption, and park management. The joint reserve function of material reserves in various petrochemical enterprises has broken down the storage information barriers of various enterprises in the production chain. As long as the required materials are published online, they can be prepared nearby in a timely manner.
In addition, Ningbo has three other industrial brains in such industries as the smart home appliances, cultural and sports products, and smart sensors. They are constantly driving the industry’s transformation and upgrading, as an important breakthrough point for Ningbo to promote new industrialization and develop new-quality productivity
