Ningbo to speed up agricultural modernization

Ningbo should have a notable improvement in comprehensive agricultural economic returns, scientific and technological application, industrial management, facility, ecological environment and support for agriculture. Ningbo should have radical increase in the efficiency of resource utilization, per unit land production and productivity. By the end of the 12th Five-year-plan Period, the net income of the rural residents should reach 23,500 yuan, and the city should initially complete the construction of a modern agriculture. Ningbo Municipal Government recently released a document on the acceleration of the modernization of agriculture.
The construction of modern agricultural parks should be accelerated. By improving the planning and strengthening the concentration of element concentration, the city should focus its efforts to build a number of modern agricultural parks with advanced equipment, management mechanism and good demonstrative effect. By the end of 2015, the city should build about 20 modern comprehensive agricultural parks, about 60 leading demonstrative parks and 180 parks of top-notch agricultural products.
In the construction of the leading demonstrative parks, focus should be on the infrastructural facilities, and the four platforms of public service centers, modern agricultural exhibition centers, agricultural logistic centers and recreational centers. The city should develop a number of large and competitive agricultural projects with distinct features and with the high degree of technology content.
The city should actively promote emerging agricultural industries. Following the principle of “complete industrial chain”, the city should give support to the deep processing industries of agricultural products, accelerate the steps of technological renovation of enterprises, develop new-type industrialized agriculture, encourage the development of logistic industry for agricultural products, promote the development of cold chain transporting, chain operation of agricultural products, linking-up of farmers and supermarkets, logistic distribution and e-business so as to increase the added value of agricultural products. By the end of 2015, the rate of processing of agricultural products should rise to 55%.
Focusing on resource saving and resource cycling, the city should make great efforts to popularize recyclable agricultural technologies, intensively utilize agricultural resources and comprehensively promote the construction of ecological recyclable agriculture. By the end of 2015, the city should complete the building of at least 2 demonstrative counties of recyclable agriculture, 10 demonstrative districts of recyclable agriculture and 30 demonstrative enterprises of recyclable agriculture.
