Ningbo-Hong Kong: trade value from Jan to May over ¥ 1 bln

Statistics from Ningbo Customs shows that the value of import and export between Ningbo and Hong Kong from January to May reaches one billion yuan, up by 20.4 percent against the same period of 2012. The figure accounts for 2.5 percent of Ningbo’s total value of trade of the same time span, ranking the first among the ten trading partners of Ningbo in terms of its increasing rate.
It is learned that the import and export activities between Ningbo and Hong Kong were rather robust in the first five months. The value of import was 56.75 million US dollars, down by 24.6 against the same period of 2012, while the value of export increased by 940 million US dollars, up by 24.9 percent. The active trade balance stood at 880 million US dollars, an increase of 30.3 percent. As the major trade pattern, processing trade made its value at 630 million US dollars, up by 38.9 percent and accounting for 63 percent of the total. Foreign-invested enterprises, the leading force, had a trade value of 770 million US dollars, an increase of 28.1 percent and accounting for 77 percent of the total. The major merchandises are mechanical and electrical products, LCD panels and textiles and apparels.
