9th Ningbo Tea Culture Festival Kicks off

It was learned from the organizing committee of Ningbo tea culture festival, on May 2nd, that the 9th China (Ningbo) International Tea Culture Festival and the 1st China Household Tea Ceremony Contest will be unveiled on May 3rd at Ningbo International Convention & Exhibition Center. Co-organized by China International Tea Culture Institute, China Tea Marketing Association, China Tea Science Society, Department of Agriculture of Zhejiang Province and Ningbo Government, the event has attracted nearly 400 renowned nationwide and local tea enterprises, involving over 3,500
professionals and 800 standard booths.
It is reported that Ningbo boasts a tea plantation area of 218,400 mu (14,560 hectares) with the total output reaching 19,100 tons. Moreover, almost 30% of the country's tea are exported via Ningbo Port, thereby the city can be fairly assumed as a “Tea Port”.
As the highlight of the festival, the 9th China (Ningbo) Tea Expo will be held in four exhibition halls, Hall 1- Hall 4, of which the Hall 1 is served as a themed hall displaying Ningbo local famous tea brands. The expo will give priority to presenting famous tea brands from Ningbo as well as other places, packaging of tea and tea set, derivatives of tea culture, tea and snacks and etc.. Besides, it is committed to providing audience with a expo of high quality and large scale with decent and distinctive exhibition halls in which 60% are special booths.
Being one of the important activities of the festival, the 9th “China Tea Cup” and High-Quality Tea Appraisal has recently been held in Ningbo. 17 tea producers as Zhejiang, Fujian, Guizhou, Henan, Anhui, Hunan, Shaanxi, Sichuan, Jiangsu, Guangxi, Chongqing and Tibet brought a total of 337 quality green tea brands to the event. And the final result will be announced at the opening ceremony of the festival
