Five Continents Chinese Youth Chinese Character Chess Invitational Tournament held

On the afternoon of August 19th, the opening ceremony of the 3rd Five Continents Chinese Youth Chinese Character Chess Invitational Tournament was held in Ningbo.
This event is guided by the China Overseas Chinese Federation and the Zhejiang Overseas Chinese Federation, and hosted by the Ningbo Overseas Chinese Federation and the Municipal Overseas Chinese Affairs Office. The 100 contestants who stood out in the preliminary round will compete in Ningbo. More than 750 Chinese youth athletes and parents from over 40 overseas Chinese organizations and Chinese schools from five continents gathered online in five sub venues, including Manila in the Philippines, Melbourne in Australia, Lisbon in Portugal, Rome in Italy, and Milan, to participate in the opening ceremony via video conferencing.
In the subsequent offline finals, 15 people won first prize, 35 people won second prize, and 50 people won third prize. It is reported that the online final will be held on August 20th, and 300 Chinese young athletes from five continents will participate in the competition.
At the opening ceremony, 8 Chinese language school teachers and overseas Chinese leaders were appointed as the second batch of cultural exchange ambassadors for the Ningbo overseas Chinese community. 109 Chinese language schools from five continents have launched an initiative to work together to promote the dissemination and development of Chinese character chess overseas. Chinese character chess was introduced in Ningbo in 2014, and over the past decade, it has spread to more than 40 countries and regions, with 26 Chinese character chess overseas dissemination centers established.
