Among them, the container throughput of countries and regions along the “Belt and Road” accounted for more than 40%.
Since the beginning of 2019, Ningbo Zhoushan Port has been striving to improve the port service level and accelerate the “paperless” reform of the port. At the same time, through the expansion of container yards, the improvement of dock berthing capacity, and the provision of intelligent equipment, the efficiency of port collection and distribution is further enhanced.
The strong growth of import and domestic trade has become an important driving force for container throughput recovery. Since the beginning of 2019, Ningbo Port has maintained steady growth in Asian traditional trading partners such as Japan, South Korea and the ASEAN market. According to the statistics of Ningbo Zhoushan Port Group, the throughput of the first half of the year to Southeast Asia and the
Mediterranean route increased by 41% and 15.8% respectively. On the other hand, benefiting from the rebound of the Ningbo Port Climate Index, the internal feeder line and the domestic trade line maintained steady growth. According to statistics from the Ningbo Port and Shipping Administration, the growth of the Zhapu Line, Fuzhou Line and the Yangtze River Line was outstanding, and the growth rate of the domestic trade line increased by 11.27 percentage points year-on-year.
With the “One Belt, One Road” initiative deeply rooted in the hearts of the people, the container business in the countries and regions along the route continues to improve. At the beginning of 2019, the international intermodal business of Ningbo Zhoushan Port to Germany was successfully opened. The next step will be to promote cooperation with ports such as Algheria Port of Spain.
Sea-rail combined transport has become a highlight of the weekly report of Ningbo Zhoushan Port. As of the end of June, Ningbo Zhoushan Port sea-rail business has radiated to 48 prefecture-level cities in 15 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities), with 14 sea-rail trains and reaching 16 inland dry ports.
