“The ‘bowled candy’ is not only a kind of sweet candy, but also a crystallization of the wisdom and emotions of the people of Jinyang County, which conveys our longing for a better life and our adherence to traditional crafts.” said Meng Jiajun, a craftsman of' bowled candy from Jinyang County, Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province, on the morning of August 5.
To Meng Jiajun’s delight, as he officially became a member of Zhenhai Craftsmen Gathering Area yesterday, the “bowled candy” is expected to fly out of the Daliang Mountain and spread its sweetness to the people across the country. “We are currently collaborating with leading enterprises in Zhenhai District to enhance the branding of our ‘bowled candy’ and prepare to enter the national retail market.” said Meng Jiajun, who is confident of the prospects of the “bowled candy”.
There are numerous traditional crafts across the country. Like cultural relics scattered in the soil, they have gradually become desolate with the development of the times. Many craftsmen know well formulas and techniques, and know how to make products, but they lack the ability to run factories. Without proper sales channels, it is difficult for old crafts to create new benefits.
To address the problem, Zhenhai District launched the building of a handicraft gathering area on August 5. Through the “Three Stars Action” of seeking stars, creating stars, and shining stars, the four major projects of handicraft space creation, talent cultivation, platform construction, and industrial empowerment will be deeply implemented to promote the innovation, inheritance, and development of traditional crafts, enhance the value chain through industrial chains and innovation chains, and boost the co-development of cultural industry and cultural sectors.
“The ‘Three Stars Action’ will attract excellent craftsmen from all over the country to settle down at the gathering area, and the role of craftsmen will also be transformed into research and development engineers”, said Yang Lin, chairman of the Yong’s Gourmet, a leading enterprise in the Zhenhai Handicraft Gathering Area, by taking traditional food craftsmen as an example. “After joining this platform, they still possess their own formulas.
