Export of fuel-saving cars rocketed

News from Ningbo Customs said that 15,000 passenger cars worth of US $94.59 mln were exported from Ningbo Port in the first seven months of this year, up by 1.5 times and 1.9 times respectively against the same period of last year. The average price was US $6,306 per car, an increase of 18 percent year on year.

It is learned that the export of fuel-saving cars also rocketed this year. All of them were exported via trade pattern. The main style is gasoline cars with a displacement of less than 1.5 liters. The total amount of export is 12,000, up by 1.2 times against the same period of last year and accounting for 80 percent of the total export volume. Gasoline cars with a displacement of more than 1.5 liters and less than 3.0 liters saw the quickest increasing speed, with a sum of 2,189 cars, up by 8 times. State-owned enterprises were the main exporters with an export number of 14,000, an increase of 146.7 percent year on year and accounting for 93.5 percent of the total. While private enterprises also exported 976 cars, up by 142.8 percent.

A relative officer of Ningbo Customs revealed that the target market of Ningbo Port still centered in developing countries with low and middle end markets. The main export places were Russia, Ukraine, White Russia, Brazil, Vietnam, Chile, Iran, Egypt and Iraq and so on.

Cixi becomes the eighth most competitive county-level city

China Institute of City Competitiveness (CICC) published the ranking list of the most competitive county-level cities (2012) lately. Cixi was rated the eighth with a final score of 90.34.

The first city on the list is Kunshan City of Jiangsu Province, followed by Jingyin City, Zhangjiagang City, Changshu City, Wujiang City, Jinjiang City and Yixing City, all of which except Jinjiang City (Fujian Province) are cities of Jiangsu Province. Zhuji of Zhejiang Province ranked the tenth, while Shaoxing the 12th, Yiwu 14th and Yuyao 18th.

It is learned that the evaluation index system includes economic, social, environmental and cultural systems, with economic competitiveness, industrial competitiveness and financial competitiveness and other seven first level indicators, 50 second indicators as well as 217 third level indicators.

CICC is the first institute made up of over one hundred experts, scholars and researchers from mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao as well as from abroad who share the common ambition of studying the development of Chinese cities and improving their competitiveness. The institute is an international academic community which specialized in studying the development of Chinese cities and improving their competitiveness as well as providing counseling and evaluation services. The ranking list of the most competitive county-level cities (2012) is a newly-added list of this year.

Ltd. And the success of the company proved the advantages of the three-management supervision model put forward by Ningbo Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau.  
 
In face of a large number of export companies and complicated export inspection procedures, Ningbo Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau pioneered the supervision model of three-management for companies dealing with industrial goods. The three-management refers to access management, classification management and supervision management. As long as companies are up to the standards of classification management, they can apply for different types of supervision management according to their levels of risks of products, company management levels and quality levels etc. After that, they will go through the procedure of subsequent field-proven to lower supervising risks.

At present, among the over 5,800 qualified companies, 53 percent are listed as the type of being supervised through inspection and verification due to their reliable qualities and credibility. And the other 47 percent are under tight supervision because of their small scales, high risks or unstable qualities.

Companies with stable qualities and advanced management level could be under dynamic supervision with much lower sampling frequency. It needs 3-5 working days for common goods to complete the whole process of quarantine inspection, while it only needs half a day after the implementation of dynamic supervision.

The main goals of the three-management model are to raise the speed of export, alleviate the burdens of export companies and improve effectiveness. The implementation of the model has evidently lifted the qualities of export products. In the first two quarters of this year, Ningbo Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau inspected a total of 277,000 batches of goods worth US $8.97 bln, increased by 3.7 percent and 3.4 percent year on year respectively. And the amount of unqualified goods and their values lowered by 36.2 percent and 71.5 percent respectively

Ningbo rush goes up by 70% in price

According to Ningbo Customs, the exports of rush products reached 56.76 million US dollars in the first seven months of 2012, up 37.2% over the same period last year. The average export price of each piece reached 9 US dollars, up 72.6% over the same period last year.

In recent years, the planting area of rush has reduced to 5.73 million acres and the mat manufacturing companies have reduced from 287 to over 100 under reasonable municipal control. Every year, municipal Economic Federation of Rush Industry would release the guide price timely at the end of the harvest period to avoid vicious competition.

It is learned that Ningbo's rush products were mainly exported to Japan. In the first seven months of 2012, Ningbo exported rush products of 56.57 million US dollars to Japan, accounting for 99.7% of the total exports of the rush products.

Cixi private enterprises increased input for technical transformation

Recently, Cixi Singfen Electric Co., Ltd. invested 20 million Yuan for press automation transformation. The original seven production processes were shortened to one automatic molding one. The new added output of Singfen was expected to 4 billion Yuan in 2012.

According to the introduction of Cixi Economic and Information Technology Bureau, the price of many industrial devices reduced in 2012 in terms of the weak global economic situation. It was a good opportunity grasped by Cixi Companies to develop technology transformation and adjust industrial structure. In order to give more support, Cixi government assigned an annual prize of 40 million Yuan for technology transformation and 30 million Yuan for the investment in emerging industries, up nearly 50% over last year.

The main direction of technology transformation of Ningbo private enterprises was developing new emerging industry. It was learned that a total of 59 projects with each investment of over 10 million Yuan were launched in emerging industry, accounting for one-third of the total technological transformation projects.

At the same time, a reform of technical promotion was accelerated in the traditional industries in Cixi.
