First chronic kidney disease management center established in Ningbo

On the morning of March 28, the first management center for chronic kidney disease of Zhejiang Province was completed and started in the No.1 Hospital of Ningbo. The center will provide early screening, standardized diagnosis and treatment and long-term follow-up management services for patients with chronic kidney disease, and improve the level of prevention and treatment, showing that Ningbo will open a new era of chronic kidney disease prevention and treatment.
Chronic kidney disease is a common disease which seriously affects people's health, especially in its end stage. According to Bian Xueyan, Director of the Kidney

Disease Center of No.1 Hospital, the situation of prevention and treatment of chronic kidney disease in China is very severe, with such problems as low awareness rate, low early diagnosis rate and low treatment rate. With the chronic kidney disease prevalence of 10.8% in China, that is, 160 million patients, China is the country with
the largest number of chronic kidney diseases, and the second highest mortality rate, second only to India. The number of patients suffering from chronic kidney diseases in Ningbo is increasing year by year, as well as the number of patients undergoing the abdominal and hemodialysis treatment in major hospitals. Over the past five years, the Kidney Disease Center of No.1 Hospital has received nearly 200 uremic patients annually, and more than 500 patients have been waiting for renal transplantation in No.2 Hospital of Yinzhou District every year.
According to Ruan Liemin, Secretary of the Party Committee of No.1 Hospital of Ningbo, the management center for chronic kidney disease will provide an efficient and convenient one-stop whole course management solution, so that the patients can be detected through screening at an early stage, receive standardized treatment as soon as possible, and undergo effective whole course management, so as to reduce the risk of dialysis and kidney transplantation, further reduce the overall treatment cost, and reduce the burden of disease
