The "Yihan Cup" Ningbo Children's Chess Open was held on May 1 and 2 at the Yihan Chess Club, and the winners of this game will qualify as the members of the children team for the major league game to be held in late May. This chess open, hosted by Ningbo Chess Association and Jiangbei District Sports Committee, consists of two groups, with 11 chess players (all of them being winners of some national or provincial games) in the elite group and about 100 players in the open group.

Besides, the studio of Qiu Dong, the first national chess master in Ningbo, was officially open on May 1. In recent years, he has been devoted to the cultivation of some new chess players, including Wang Qian, a female national chess master, and Tong Xuancheng and Hu Jiayi, both champions of the national youth chess games.
