Hi All

         I would like to congratulate the Chinese government for fining people for not wearing a seat belt in the front of a taxi,

I have been told this law came into effect on the 1.1.2013.

I would like to TOTALLY CONDEMN the government for not legislating for seat belts to be warn in all vehicles by all people, at all times, when the vehicle is mobile.

In European countries you have a baby capsule tied in with the seat belt to secure the baby. Do the Chinese people not value there children!!!! I think not, the way you see them riding around on motor bikes, even going up a road the wrong way at night with no lights on!!!

I was in YuYao on Friday and was kindly picked up and given a lift in a BMW, I went to put my front seat belt on and to my surprise there was a blank belt anchor in the seat belt anchor point.

WHY I asked my self, maybe the belt has to be buckled to stop a warning noise!!!!!!

Later that day I was given a lift from YuYao back to Ningbo by the draughtsman we are using, he started with his seat belt on then took it off when we were out of the town area

I really wonder!!!!!    

Attached is an article I cut out of a news paper I was reading while on an aeroplane the other day, As I have mentioned aeroplanes’ why do the Chinese and some others undo there seat belts as soon as the plane touches down even though it comes over the intercom keep buckled up until advised otherwise. Those inconsiderate people who undo there belts are just putting themselves and other people at risk. The same applies in road vehicles.

What can we do to stop the carnage on Chinese roads? A good start would be to get the legislators to start acting now instead of procrastinating.

The attached article says. SWALLOW YOUR PRIDE AND BUCKLE UP. I agree why accept the taxi driver, or any driver for that matter that gives you a sneer when you buckle up.  

China has only had a lot of cars on the roads for about the last 6 years, China has a lot of incompetent drivers out there, I see drivers trying to reverse park and a lot have several goes before finally parking. Just as well there are no car trailers here!!!

I remember in the sixties when American, Ralph Nader, started on Chrysler Valiant cars about there unsafe fuel tanks, he won in the end but not until many people had perished, he then went on to seat belts, we need more like him around China.
