Ten achievements of ecological construction of Ningbo selected

Ningbo was awarded the title of "National Environmental Protection Model City" in 2001. It passed the first examination of the model cities and will greet the second examination this year. Recently, Ningbo Ecology Office launched the selection of "Top Ten achievements of Ningbo ecological construction in celebrating the 10th anniversary of becoming the National Environmental Protection Model City". Then 15 achievements were put into internet voting after being selected from those recommended by ecology offices of all levels and on-site examinations by related experts, media and public representatives. At last, the top ten achievements were selected by the internet voting and expert assessment.

The top ten achievements of ecological construction are as follows. Ningbo ranks high in Zhejiang Province in pollution abatement and emission reduction work; the burning-ban areas are promoted on a full scale downtown; the passing rate of water source quality for drinking water reaches 100%; Ningbo realized the modernized environmental monitoring and testing methods; Yaojiang River, Ningbo's mother river, got rehabilitated; solar-energy classification and ecological processing of garbage in remote countryside areas are realized; Tengtou Village was chosen to attend the Shanghai Expo for its successful practice of ecological harmony; China Fishing Festival set the new fashion for marine ecological environment protection; Dongqian Lake Tourism Resort built the ecologically friendly environment; and the publicizing pattern for environmental protection got innovated by such activities as "green hometown" campaign.
