Income standard for applying low-rent house raised

Haishu, Jiangdong, Jiangbei districts will soon raise the application standard for low-rent housing by 10.1 percent over the previous year, said housing authorities on Tuesday. According to the new standard, low-income households with disposal monthly income per person less than 2086.5 yuan are eligible to apply low-rent housing.

Ningbo is currently offering low-rent housing to low-income families including households enjoying the minimum living guarantee, households living on aid, and the most financial needy households. To apply for a low-rent house, an applicant has to prove the family's annual per capita income is less than 60 percent of the urban resident per capita disposable income of the previous year. Statistics reveal the city's per capita disposable income of urban residents in 2013 was 41,729 yuan and 37,902 yuan in 2012.

Besides, a low-rent housing applicant has to prove their present housing is smaller than 18 square meters per person or 36 square meters per household, or does not own any houses at all.
