Over 14,000 people in Yuyao no longer threatened by geologic hazards

 It is raining heavily and constantly these days. Mr. Wan, an man at his seventies said: “ if it happened in the past, we would worry so much about landslide that couldn’t sleep at night. But now we have moved into resettlement area and are no longer bothered by it.
On the plat land of Liangnong, Yuyao, there stand rows of newly-built two-storeys houses. Not long before, Mr. Wan, with over 30 other families, moved into the resettlement area preventing from potential geologic hazards.
Siming Mountain area, in south Yuyao, is an area that frequently confronts geologic disasters. In order to safeguard people’s lives and possessions, in recent years, Yuyao government has introduced the subsidy policy for residents moving out from mountainous areas that threatened by geologic hazards to resettlement areas. Nearly 20 million yuan is used as moving subsidy for residents. Local Department of Land has got over 150 hectare land for the construction of resettlement community and other counties and communities also actively participate in. By the end of May this year, Yuyao has finished the construction of five resettlement communities for residents threatened by geologic hazard. There are 436 families and 1417 residents altogether. Besides, Yuyao government has also granted over 10 million yuan for engineering management for Banling slope, Dalan and other eight places that face potential geologic disasters.
It is known that the third-stage resettlement area in Liangnongzhen is under tight construction and Lufuzhan is launching the initial work for resettlement community for landslide migration.
