The other day, Ninghai County was appointed a national pilot smart city for 2013. “The Map Decision Making System” has recently been put in use in the county. This system provides the public accurate and convenient internet map services in the fields of logistics, traffic, power grid, environment protection, urban construction, community, public services and medical care and it also plays a role in the precise, dynamic and scientific decision making of the government.
As early as in 2010, Ningbo took the lead in China to start the construction of the smart city. On the list of pilot smart cities for 2013 announced by Ministry of Housing and Urban Rural Construction are 103 pilot cities. A pilot city will have three to five years for its experiment period. Then it will be assessed and officially appointed by related departments. A pilot city has the priority to have large long-term low-interest loans by State Development Bank.
