Ningbo to see harvest of waxberry up 30% in June

This year, the mature period of waxberries will be earlier than that of last year in Ningbo’s Yuyao and Cixi areas. The period after 20th June will be the best time to pick waxberries and the yield will be 30% higher than that of last year, reports news.zj.com.

Related forestry departments explain that the recent moderate climate and sophisticated techniques of planting vegetables and fruits have contributed to this early and fruitful harvest. And the predicted price will be RMB40/kg.

The orchard workers in Cixi, which is a major production area for bayberries, have already put the selling and picking times of waxberry on the local waxberry website.

The expanded planting area for waxberries in Cixi has also been a factor in an exceptional harvest this year.
