When the Malta cargo ship “Pace” loaded more than 2,000 tons of cargo from Yiwu set sail from Ningbo Zhoushan Port to the South American countries of Guyana and Suriname, Ningbo Zhoushan Port added a new direct route to South America on the global shipping map - after the opening of the new route, the shipping time was reduced from the original 100 days to about 45 days.

What does the addition of a new route mean for the port of Ningbo-Zhoushan, which has more than 300 container routes? The relevant person in charge of Ningbo Zhoushan Port said that the new route is connected to Yiwu, the world's largest small commodity market, and it is also the “sixth port area” of Ningbo Zhoushan Port; On the other hand, it is connected to the countries of the “Belt and Road” co-construction, and it is also an emerging market in South America; In the middle is the ambition of Ningbo Zhoushan Port to continue to build a strategic fulcrum of domestic circulation and a strategic hub of domestic and international dual circulation.
