On November 9, foreign Chinese lovers from Russia, the United States, Bangladesh, Yemen, Burundi, Cameroon and other countries gathered
at the Tianyige Museum to participate in the Seventh Foreigners' Chinese Competition in Ningbo.
"As a base for international cultural exchanges in Zhejiang Province, Tianyige Museum has successfully held six Chinese competitions for foreigners’ in Ningbo." Zheng Weiwei, deputy secretary of the party branch of Tianyige Museum, introduced that this competition changed the traditional competition system in the form of ancient Chinese examination. 10 foreign contestants dressed in ancient clothes and turned into ancient examinees. Through a series of examinations such as "county examination", “prefectural examination” "province examination", "triennial examination", "metropolitan exam" and "palace exam", they fully felt the charm of traditional Chinese culture.
In the competition, with the assistance of the "boy attendant at school" in Ningbo, the contestants showcased their skills and abilities. They displayed their talents in front of the statue of Fan Qin, played the game “you gesture, I guess” in the Zunjing Pavilion, guessed lantern riddles in the Scripture Hall. Contestants experienced the infinite charm of traditional Chinese culture and learned more about Ningbo through intense battles.
After 5 rounds of intense competition, contestant Jibu from Cameroon stood out and was crowned as the "champion". “In this competition, I shared my stories from China and Ningbo, and also made many friends from different countries. I am very happy and enjoy the process, "he said. Contestants Xiaoma and Jianchen from Yemen respectively won the titles of “Bangyan”"second place" and Tanhua "third place"
