Ningbo made a new high in import of beer

With the coming of summer, the imported beer is becoming popular. According to updated statistics from Ningbo Customs, from January to April, 484,000 litres of beer has been imported via Ningbo Customs, worth 634,700 US dollars, increased by 650% and 680% year on year. In April alone, the import amounted to 306,000 litres, 17.1 times the figure in 2012 year on year, renewing the record in the history. The import is worth 372,000 US dollars, 18.1 times the figure in 2012 year on year.
It is learned that the import was mainly from Germany. From January to April, the imported beer from Germany amounted to 392,000 litres, increased by 640% year on year, accounting for 81% of the total import in the four months via Ningbo Customs. A related person from a beer importer said that thanks to its mellow taste and the relatively higher alcohol and malt concentration, German beer is quite popular among consumers in Ningbo.
