The "Nationwide Reading" Summit Forum of Zhejiang Province was held at Ningbo Musuem on the afternoon of November 18. Related experts, like Gui Xiaofeng, former Deputy Director of the State Administration of Press and Publication, delivered speeches at the forum and discussed about the development, changes, achievements and future of the nationwide reading campaign over the past decade. Also present at the forum are the related personnel in charge from the Bureau of Culture, Broadcasting, Television, Press and Publication of all the cities and counties in Zhejiang Province.
According to Shan Lie, Deputy Director of Zhejiang Bureau of Press, Publication, Broadcasting, Film and Television, the "nationwide reading" campaign is an important measure for building the learning society, an important step for the construction of the public culture service system and an important sign of social progress and improvement of civilization. Over the past decade, Zhejiang Province has made outstanding achievements in the campaign. However, in this "internet plus" era, the activity also witnesses a lot of difficulties and problems, which requires further exploration and innovation.
In 2015, Ningbo was entitled "Cultural Capital of East Asia". During the 13th Five-year Plan period, Ningbo aims to build "a city of boo
ks", as a major part of its cultural construction. Zhao Huifeng, Director of Ningbo Bureau of Culture, Broadcasting, Television, Press and Publication, made a speech titled "promoting nationwide reading, building the city of book". And Xu Yan, Professor of the Information Administration College of Nanjing University and Director of China Reading Association, made a speech on promoting nationwide reading in Zhejiang Province.
