Ningbo economy grows well in the first three quarters

According to a preliminary calculation, in the first three quarters of 2014, Ningbo achieved a total GDP of 540.52 billion yuan, an increase of 7.2% over the same period of last year in terms of the comparable prices.

At the press conference held on the afternoon of October 27, Tang Bosheng, Director of Ningbo Statistics Bureau and the spokesman of the municipal government, reported the economic progress of the first three quarters of this year in Ningbo. In general, the economy has maintained a steady growth during the period.

 

After the flood disaster of 2013 and the bird flu in early months of this year, the agricultural production has greeted a recovery. In the first three quarters, the total output value of agriculture, forestry, husbandry and fishery reached 27.21 billion yuan, up by 0.8% in terms of the comparable prices. The industrial sector has grown, with the added value of the large scale industrial enterprises standing at 181.78 billion yuan, up by 6.6% over the same period of last year, a growth rate similar to that of the whole province. The service industry has also recovered, with the added value of 23.83 billion yuan, up by 7.1%.

The fixed asset investment has maintained a steady increase. The city realized an investment of 299.9 billion yuan, up by 16.1% over the same period of last year, including 92.11 billion yuan for industrial investment, up by 18.5%. The demonstration effect of some major areas has been obvious with the average growth rate of 20.9% of the eight satellite towns and those of Xikou Town, Guanhaiwei Town and Zhouxiang Town up to 100.4%, 51.0% and 38.6% respectively. The consumption sector has been accelerated, with the retail sales of the consumer goods reaching 209.7 billion yuan, an increase of 13.4% and 0.3 percentage point higher than that of the first half of the year. Foreign trade has bounced back, with the export volume of US$54.81 billion, up by 12.6%.

The total fiscal revenue of the city reached 140.8 billion yuan, up by 7.0% over the same period of last year. The per capita disposable income of the urban residents reached 34225 yuan, an increase of 9.7%, while the per capital disposable income of the constant rural residents reached 19990 yuan, an increase of 10.9%, both growing at a larger rate than the GDP and the fiscal revenue.
