January of 2015 witnesses a head start in Ningbo’s export

Ningbo has been besieged by an uneven situation in its foreign trade since the beginning of 2015 with a sustained export growth and import decrease while the import growth of daily consumption goods picked up quickly. Statistics released by Ningbo Custom have shown that the total import and export amount hit 52.9 billion yuan on January 2015, a decrease of 6.1% over the previous year including 14.98 billion yuan in import, a decrease of 28.8% and 37.29 billion yuan in export, an increase of 7.4%, achieving 22.94 billion yuan of trade surplus. Ningbo has won a head start in its export growth when foreign trade in January slowed down generally in China.
Statistics have revealed that sustained stable growth of export in Europe, America and ASEAN is the key reason behind Ningbo’s head start in its export.
On January, Ningbo’s exports to these three major markets stood at 10.53 billion yuan, 8.18 billion yuan and 2.78 billion yuan, increases of 8%, 23.3% and 29% respectively, which exceeded Ningbo’s average export growth speed of 7.4%. The export amount of three markets accounted for 56.7% of Ningbo’s total export amount, an increase of 4.2% over the January of 2014 and more goods are still being exported to these three markets.
