Ningbo develops both domestic trade and foreign trade

The 3rd CEEC Expo will be held in Ningbo in June, 2017, marking Ningbo's status as the first choice for the CEEC products entering Chinese market. During the "Double 11 Shopping Festival" this year, the estimated cross-border e-commerce orders will exceed six million. Since the beginning of this year, Ningbo has been developing both its domestic trade and the foreign trade. According to the latest statistics from Ningbo Commission of Commerce, in the first three quarters this year, Ningbo achieved a total social consumption retail volume of 258.25 billion yuan, up by 10.4% over the same period of last year, with the import and export volume of 453.29 billion yuan, down by 0.6%.

At the beginning of this year, the commission decided to focus on the integrated development of domestic trade and foreign trade, and the addressing of such problems as poor consumption structure, low value chain potential and week resource allocation capacity. By taking advantage of the booming of online overseas shopping, a lot of foreign trade enterprises have actively changed their marketing strategies and turned their eyes back to the domestic market.

Dooya Tubular Motor is a good example. As the globally leading smart home and door & window motor manufacturer, the company has maintained a growth rate of over 10% for the past 12 consecutive years since it was founded in 2004, and its total sales volumes ranks No.2 in the world. This year, the company launched the "electric curtain entering every home" scheme and adopted the model of urban service provider and franchised retailer for the domestic market. So far, the company has achieved a balanced development of domestic trade and foreign business, with the annual sales income of over 500 million yuan. The domestic trade sales volume has grown dramatically by 50% over the past three years.

"Internet + Trade" model has become the new choice for the businesses in their trade transformation. Such leading traders as Beyond, Peacebird and Ningshing, and such new leading cross-border e-commerce platforms as Zhengzheng E-commerce, Umai and Taotaoyang, have alo prepared for the coming shopping festival. Statistics show that in the first three quarters this eyar, the online retail volume reached 62.76 billion yuan, up by 41.3% over the same period of last year.

By docking with the international market, the enterprises have found a proper way to integrate domestic trade and foreign trade. Since the beginning of this year, the enterprises concerned have accelerated their pace of setting up overseas sales channels in the European, US, Asian and African markets, including offices, stores, distribution and sales centers. In the first nine months this year, the approved overseas investment for wholesale and retail industry reached US$370 million, up by 55.1% over the same period of last year. And 33 overseas enterprises or organizations were established in the countries along the "one belt, one road" route.
