Rebuilding of Catholic Church started

The complete repairing of the catholic church in Lao Wai Tan has started. The major part of the church will be restored within this year. By the end of 2016, the surroundings and landscape construction will be completed. Since the fire in July 28, 2014, a restoration plan with the help of experts from Shanghai was made and approved by the State Cultural Relics Bureau.
The Catholic Church in Lao Wai Tan is a key cultural relic in Ningbo. The whole building was made up of the church, the bell tower and supporting houses, with the typical gothic characteristic. The repairing will strive to retain its original outlook.
How to restore the timing of the big bell on the bell tower is the biggest technical problem for the repairing. Last week, Ningbo Cultural Relics Preservation Departments, together with clock and watch experts, astronomy constellation pointer turret clock maker, and tourbillon planet clock agency patent inventor Mr. Wang Zonggang made the initial repairing plan.
It is learned that the restoration will be divided into two parts. The first part will mainly repair the major building like the first floor brick-wood structure church an bell tower. It is estimated to finish by the end of 2015. The second phase will focus on the outlook and landscape, which will be completed by the end of 2016.
