– How SMEs Seize New Opportunities by Cooperating with Big Corporations

In 2014, situations for Chinese SMEs do not seem good and a lot of them stopped production and went into bankruptcy. Chinese National Commerce Department indicates that the total profit ratio for SMEs is below 3% and its development speed falls far behind large enterprises. This leads to huge pressure facing exporting and domestic demand. However, in developed countries like the US, SMEs are the most vigorous business vehicles.

Experts believe that SMEs should actively collaborate with large corporations and then seek assistance from the local government in order to overcome current difficulties and achieve internationalization. Unfortunately, lacking of mature venture capital system and cooperation experience, Chinese SMEs are facing more demanding collaboration challenges.

Thus it is time to think about how SMEs can learn to capture “the big chance” to work with large corporations and how to effectively improve SMEs’ own influence and competence through this cooperation. This forum will invite professors who have in-depth research outcomes in this field, and CEOs who have experiences working with big corporations to share their knowledge and experiences with you, and discuss with you about how to seize opportunities in an effective way.

Dear CEO,

After successfully held three Dean’s CEO Forums of Nottingham University Business School China in the past two years, we cordially invite you to attend the 4th Dean’s CEO Forum. The forum aims to bring together CEOs from the greater Ningbo area on a periodic basis to discuss management topics of importance to help keep up with the latest management developments and make firms world class.

We want to provide a platform for CEOs to interact and gain insightful ideas from a discussion stimulated by inspiring talks by professors and other CEOs.  A central point of this event is not only the presentations, but also the interaction with and the learning from the experienced audience as well.  Thus, much time will be allocated for discussion with the audience.

It is hoped that the Dean’s CEO forum can serve as a place for busy CEOs to take a little time out to discuss their problems and ideas and thus gain insight and strength to tackle many difficult issues they regularly face.  It also aims to be a place for an elite group of CEOs to meet and have informal interaction.

Your participation will be much appreciated; we are looking forward to seeing you!
