Lin Bangde’s Calligraphy ExhibitionⅡunveiled

To celebrate the 1200th anniversary of the founding of Ningbo city, Lin Bangde’s Calligraphy Exhibition II was opened in the Art Space on the second floor of the New Building of Ningbo Library. More than 300 calligraphy enthusiasts from government agencies, enterprises and all walks of life attended the opening ceremony.

Lin Bangde, born in October 1957 in Ninghai, Zhejiang, is currently a member of the Chinese Calligraphers Association, a member of the National Primary and Secondary School Teachers and Students’ Calligraphy Examination Evaluation Committee, vice president of Zhejiang Overseas Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Institute, vice president of Ningbo Painting and Calligraphy Institute, Director of the Calligraphy Promotion Committee of Ningbo Chinese Culture Promotion Association.

It is Lin’ second exhibition after the first one held

in Hall 117 of Ningbo Cultural Center 6 years ago. Its artistic perspective is more cutting-edge than the previous one. Most of the characters used in the calligraphy are internet buzzwords and neologism, and the calligraphy art method of "fewer words" and abstract pen and ink language are used to present its unique artistic beauty, aiming to integrate calligraphy art into contemporary culture and connect fashion with the tradition. The exhibition is not only an extension of the calligraphy innovation concept of calligraphers, but also an in-depth exploration, which is believed to bring a brand new visual and aesthetic experience to the audience.

The exhibition covers two themes: "muttering" and "being silent". Buzzwords such as "圈粉"(gain fans), "吐槽"(roast), "巨婴" (giant infant), “抖音”(Tit Tok), and "涨姿势"(gain knowledge) are presented in traditional calligraphy.

The exhibition will last until August 15 (closed every Monday morning) and is open to the public free of charg
