Ningbo Library “Tianyi Book Delivering” project clutches the IFLA Library Marketing Award

The International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) has announced the winners of the 2020 Library Marketing Awards, and the Ningbo Library “Tianyi Book Delivering” project has been named one of the 10 most innovative projects.

Founded in 1927, IFLA is the most authoritative and influential non-governmental, professional international organization in the world library community. This year’s Library Marketing Award is a global call for case studies and received marketing projects from 29 countries, including China, the United States, Russia, Singapore, Germany and France. Finally, Ningbo Library’s “Tianyi Book Delivering” project stood out for its originality and innovation and was shortlisted in the top ten. This is also the first influential international award for Ningbo Library.

At present, the “Tianyi Book Delivering” project has 17 self-checkout credit lockers and 12 manual book return points throughout the city. Readers can choose to deliver books to the lending cabinets, and also choose to send books directly to their homes, realizing point and click, mail books to home. This convenient and efficient service has been welcomed by the public, especially young readers, and over the past two years, more than 363,000 books have been borrowed and returned.

In addition to the “Tianyi Book Delivering” project, the other two projects are the Foshan City Library’s Neighborhood Library Project and the Wuhan University Library’s Book Ambassador Project
