The 2019 China (Ningbo) Blackpool Dancing Stars Show was staged at the Beilun Sports and Art Center on the evening of August 16, sponsored by Ningbo Performance & Arts Group and jointly organized by Ningbo Theater, Ningbo Yuchunhui Culture Development Co. Ltd. and Beijing Blackpool Dance Cultural Communication Co. Ltd.,
The Blackpool Dancing Festival is a top international dancing festival, known as the “Olympics of international style ballroom dancing”. It dates back to about 100 years ago. The festival has been held in every May at Blackpool, a British town. This show in Ningbo has invited the winners of the dancing championship at this year’s Blackpool Dancing Festival, who represent the highest level of the international style of ballroom dancing.
The romantic and elegant Rumba, the lively Cha-cha, the passionate Samba, the powerful Paso Doble and the free and easy Jive are demonstrated by the leading Blackpool dancers from Germany, the US, Iceland, Italy and Slovenia, bringing about great enjoyment to the spectators.
“We don’t want to be late so we take some time off to get here earlier. My friend and I are both lovers of the international style of ballroom dancing. We are excited to have the opportunity to enjoy the world-class dancing just at door.” said a Miss Huang. She appreciated the dancing with her friend and took a lot of pictures in excitement.
The international style of ballroom dancing is an important activity to promote the healthy life style. In terms of dancing types, it falls into the two major series of Latin style and the modern style, with the former including Cha-cha, Samba, Rumba, Paso Doble and Jive, and the latter including Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, Quickstep and Viennese Waltz. As a kind of sport dancing with strong competitiveness, the international style of ballroom dancing has a wide mass base and a large population of fans, with about 60 million loyal fans in China. It has also become one of the major leisure activities in Ningbo, and the number of the trainees of the dancing is rising and there is an obvious trend of more low-age trainees.
According to a person in charge from Ningbo Performance & Arts Group, this dancing show has established an interactive platform for Ningbo with the international artistic events and has built a special channel for cultural consumer goods transport. While leading the high-quality cultural and artistic consumption, it has also helped to enhance the artistic quality of the citizens, thus promoting Ningbo’s construction of the “international port city and oriental capital of civilization”
