Urban industry in Jiangbei to generate 10 billion yuan in coming five years

News came a few days ago that ALT Lighting located in Jiangbei would set up a laboratory with Beijing University, which will be engaged in LED intelligent system integration, light optical design and lights development. It means that Jiangbei will become an important LED production base of the province. In the first half year，the output of five new industries in total, including electromechanical integration industry, accounted for half of the output of the industrial economy.
“It is necessary to readjust the structure, for the original industrial structure can not match the urbanization trend”, said an official from the economic authorities, as this area is the central urban area, with information flow, talent flow, logistic flow and capital flow, which are important for emerging industries. The emerging industries should take product design, technical development and manufacturing as the mainstay, well matching city functions and ecological environment. For this purpose, they decide to focus on electromechanical integration, auto parts, electronic appliances, medical devices and new energy, which are expected to generate output of 10 billion yuan in coming five years.
Jiangbei initiated an entrepreneurship and innovation multiplication plan, with focus on emerging industries, industrial pacesetting companies. It will guide the key resources of land, capital, talents, etc, to flow into strategic emerging industries, and give substantial support to major pilot projects of national and provincial level. The district has set up special funds for innovation and cooperation and subsidies for high-tech businesses. A company undertaking technical innovation can get a maximum of two million yuan as subsidy from the government. Meanwhile, the district innovated on the mortgage model. During the first half year the banking institutions granted loans of 11 billion yuan to companies. Besides, the governmental finance also earmarks a yearly sum of three million yuan as risk compensatory payment.
The development of urban emerging industry needs large platforms and projects. Last year，Jiangbei set up a high-tech industrial park, which is to be listed as one of the new development parks of the province during the twelfth five-year plan, in Cicheng town. Meanwhile, a number of projects are launched: such as the cooperative project between Huyong Electric Power and CAS Ningbo Materials Institute; the technical innovative project of Bole Appliances; Ketian Magnet project, etc. This year, there are 121 technical innovation projects going on in Jiangbei, with planned investment of 2.851 billion yuan. 80% of them are from the five new industries.
At the same time, Jiangbei makes full use of the advantages in urban resources and provides the emerging industries with strong modern services. Now, the turnover of online trading volume of technical achievements has reached over 100 million yuan. The district has entered into cooperative relationship with some 50 R&D institutions including Chinese Academy of Sciences. Each year about 100 sci-tech achievements are introduced to the district. Almost 100 companies in the district have had engineering centers and 17 companies have hosted or participated in the making of 33 industrial standards. As the core area of the urban industries, Jiangbei Investment and Startup Center is already the largest production base of watermeter, steel sensor, heat exchanger of air-conditioning，high-speed fin press and medium-speed diesel engine
