China (Ningbo) Marine Business Cultural Week starts

On the morning of June 15, the opening ceremony of the 2016 China (Ningbo) Marine Business Cultural Week as well as the launching ceremony of the "marine Silk Road" creative design competition was held at the Hefeng Creative Square.

Present at the ceremony are some related officials from Jiangdong District Party Committee, representatives from Ningbo Institute of Technology, Zhejiang University, Ningbo Culture, Broadcasting, TV, Press and Publication Bureau, some cultural creation and industrial design enterprises, and college student representatives.

As a themed cultural event for the Jiangdong District to implement the national "one belt, one road" initiative, promote the construction of "port economic circle" in Ningbo and build the urban cultural brand featuring marine business culture, the cultural week activity has been held annually in the past three years, and this year, the 4th session of the week has developed as a cultural activity brand consisting of the theoretic system of marine business culture, the international exchange of marine business culture, the integration between marine business culture and industries, and the public welfare of marine business culture.

 

The Innovation and Design Industrial Association of the Marine Silk Road was established in June 2015, with the proposal of Pan Yunhe, member of the standing committee of the CPPCC and academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering. Jointly sponsored and established by Jiangdong District, Ningbo Institute of Materials, CAS, Hefeng Creative Square and Ningbo Institute of Technology, Zhejiang University, it is a branch of the Chinese Innovative Design Industrial Association. So far, there are over 50 member units, covering such countries or regions as China, the UK, Holland, Italy, South Korea and Hong Kong.

At the opening ceremony, the person in charge from the association issued the notice of the 2016 "marine Silk Road" creative design competition, and Li Ying, a prominent cultural design expert from Taiwan, delivered a keynote speech on cultural design.
