All fine days in central city in the first quarter

On the morning of 26 April, Ningbo Municipal Bureau of Ecology and Environment issued an air quality report in the first quarter. In the first three months this year, the ambient air quality in central city ranked 14th among the country’s 168 key cities with a 100 percent of air quality excellent rate.

The report showed that from January to March, the ambient air quality composite index in central city was 3.64, ranking 5th in the province, with an excellent rate of 100.0% and up 3.3 percentage points year-on-year.

In terms of atmospheric concentration of major pollutants, the PM2.5 average concentration in central city was 28μg per cubic meter, ranking 2nd in the province. The PM10 average concentration was 53μg per cubic meter, ranking 3rd in the province. The daily maximum 8-hour average concentration of atmospheric pollutant ozone was 112μg per cubic meter, down 3.4% year-on-year.

“Ranking 14th in the country and there is no single polluted day, such air quality is attributed to Ningbo’s determination to treat different pollutants together and fight for a bule sky”, the relevant person from Ningbo Municipal Bureau of Ecology and Environment said. It was also learned that Ningbo’s air governance would still focus on key areas and industries, continue to carry out the construction of clean air demonstration areas, adjust the industrial, energy and transportation structure, and implement a new round of comprehensive treatment of VOCs, diesel trucks, industrial furnace and rural and urban non-point source pollution to resolutely win the war against pollutants
