“Cloud matchmaking” platform between Ningbo and CEEC

On the afternoon of April 9, the first Global Online Exhibition of Ningbo Commodity 2020 (a special event for pandemic prevention materials for Central and Eastern Europe) was held in our city to set up a "cloud matchmaking" platform between suppliers and sellers.

The relevant director of the Ningbo Municipal Bureau of Commerce(NMBC) introduced that this event is an important platform for Ningbo to innovate the exhibition service mode, expand the presence of companies in the international market and prmote the development of service enterprises.

“Foreign trade companies in Ningbo responded positively to the news, and nearly 200 exporters signed up. Finally, we selected 18 export enterprises to connect with 14 importers from Central and Eastern Europe,” said by the responsible person of the NMBC.

At the other end of the platform, traders from Hungary, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Serbia and Ukraine from CEE were ready to strike deals. Just in one hour, companies from the two sides have conducted 42 times of three rounds online negotiation, and reached preliminary intention that 19.8 million masks, 2.25 million protective suits, 7.02 million pairs of gloves and 1.97 million bottles of disinfectant would be exported from Ningbo to CEE countries.

“Choosing CEE as the first one was based on the years of cooperation between Ningbo and CEE countries, as well as the actual needs of both suppliers and suppliers. It was both a reminiscence and warm-up.” said the responsible person of the NMBC. After the first meeting, Ningbo will also hold some online exhibitions for specific products in the future. The China-CEEC expo in 2020 will also see more online trade connections.

On April 3, one of the newly introduced measures to stabilize foreign trade is to encourage firms to expand online expanse. “In addition to the setup of official platform, we also encouraged foreign trade enterprises to seek customer base through online and offline channels to fully expand the market."
