2nd Ningbo Awarding Ceremony for Outstanding Figures from Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan Kicks off

On April 20th, the 2nd Ningbo Awarding Ceremony for Outstanding Figures from Hong Kong, Macaw, and Taiwan opens in Ningbo Overseas Chinese Wyndham Grand Hotel. Over 500 entrepreneurs, professional agents, experts across the world attend the award to discuss how to develop the city.

The ceremony aims to present the achievements of companies in Ningbo that are owned by overseas Chinese and people from Hong Kong, Macaw, and Taiwan, and to attract more businesses to Ningbo. The ceremony is cohosted by Ningbo Chamber of Overseas Chinese Businessmen, Ningbo Hong Kong Followship Association, and Ningbo Taiwanese Invested Enterprises Association. After signing up, recommendation, online voting, and expert selection, a shortlist of 32 names comes out.

The thirty-two figures come from a wide range of fields like medical care, clothing industry, lodging industry, education, culture, e-commerce, and new materials. There are leaders from traditional industries, as well as founders from newly emerging industries. These people dare to be pioneers, to explore the business world, and are willing to develop Ningbo and make donations for education after they have reached some achievements. They are going all out to boost the

development of the city, and to present to the world the charm of Ningbo.

The Ningbo Chamber of Overseas Chinese Businessmen has been active in social activities for public good over the past 16 years and has thus been highly thought of in society, with its donation amounting to 400 million RMB. In 2015, the chamber launched the Love Fund Program, managed to attract donations of 2.2 million, the 1.65 million of which was given to poverty-stricken areas in Xinjiang, Yunnan, and Lishui.

In the ceremony, the Volunteer Committee of Ningbo Chamber of Overseas Chinese Businessmen is announced to open. Going forward, the committee will bear charity in mind, and participate in varieties of social activities for public good
