Nearly 1000 high-tech enterprises established in Ningbo

It is learned from Ningbo Municipal Science and Technology Bureau that in 2012 the high-tech industry in Ningbo maintained a steady development. The overall volume of the high-tech industry reached 342.9 billion yuan, up by 11.4% over the previous year. There are altogether 930 high-tech enterprises with the amount of those in Yinzhou District, Cixi County and Yuyao County ranking among the top three of all the districts and counties in Ningbo.

The distribution of the high-tech enterprises presents a feature of regional concentration and focus. The industries mainly focus on such fields as new materials, new energy, bio-medicine, electronic information and modern transportation. The industrial concentration is most obvious in Yinzhou District, Cixi County, Yuyao County and the Bonded Zone, where the total high-tech product volume accounts for three fourths of that of the whole city.

 

In 2012, 353 high-tech projects were introduced to Ningbo, including such major projects for the Institute of Materials (Ningbo) of Chinese Academy of Sciences as the carbon fiber project, the non-aldehyde rubber project, the iron phosphate aluminum battery project and the graphene project. The National Smart Equipment High-tech Industrial Base in Beilun District was identified as the Nation-level High-tech Industrial Base. Ningbo Software and Service-outsourcing Industrial Park was listed as one of the National Torch-plan Software Industrial Bases.

According to an official from Ningbo Municipal Science and Technology Bureau, so far, a reasonable cultivating echelon has been formed, including science & technology-oriented enterprises, high-tech enterprises, innovational enterprises and listed enterprise. There are now 563 city-level science & technology-oriented enterprises, 930 city-level high-tech enterprises, 16 nation-level innovational enterprises, 52 province-level innovational enterprises and 156 city-level innovational enterprises.
