20 contracts signed for foreign investment

The signing ceremony of key foreign investment projects in Ningbo, a sub-activity of the 14th China Zhejiang Investment & Trade Symposium (ZJITS), was held in June 9. Twenty contracts with a sum of foreign investment of 1.02 bln US dollars were signed on the spot. Many high officials attended the signing ceremony, including Shou Yongnian, a member of Ningbo Municipal Standing Committee of CPC, Liu Haiquan and Hong Jiaxiang, deputy mayors of Ningbo, Shi Xiaoguo, Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of Ningbo Municipal People's Congress, and Jiang Jianwei, Vice Chairman of the CPPCC Ningbo Municipal Committee. 
The investments mainly go into such areas as agriculture, chemical industry, new energies, infrastructure, photoelectricity, machine-building industry and real estate sector, with its sources from countries like France, Japan, Singapore and Thailand as well as HK and Taiwan areas. To be specific, Chia Tai Group from Thailand agreed to invest 130 mln US dollars in Hangzhou Bay Area in Cixi to raise three mln hens for providing eggs. And moreover, TOTAL from France, one of the World’s Top 500 companies, also intended to invest a polystyrene project in Ningbo Petrochemical Economic & Technological Development Zone, and upon its finish of construction, it can yield 200,000 tons of high-grade PS a year
