Ningbo is listed in the national demo cities powerful in quality. Wang Huizhong, Member of the Standing Committee of Zhejiang Provincial Party Committee and Member of Ningbo Municipal Party Committee, recently made comments that the measures should be effective, that the tasks should be detailed, and that the city should do a solid job to promote the work. The other day, Ningbo held a mobilizing meeting on the construction of a national demonstrative city powerful in quality, making arrangements for the work. Xiangshan Port Bridge to be completed

It is learned from the related departments that Xiangshan Port Bridge will be completed and open to traffic at the end of this year. Then, it will only take less than one hour to drive from the downtown area of Ningbo to Xiangshan County.

The building of the bridge will change the disadvantaged traffic status of Xiangshan Peninsula by involving it in the "one-hour traffic circle" of Ningbo. Meanwhile, it will include Xiangshan in the golden traveling line composed of such areas as Shanghai, Hangzhou Bay Cross-sea Bridge, Ningbo (Dongqian Lake and Xiangshan County), Wenzhou and Taizhou.

Bridge attracting more tourists

Mr. Zhang, a manager from a tourist agency, says that with its beautiful scenery and delicious seafood, Xiangshan County has a lot of tourist advantages, while it is a pity that the tourism used to be limited by its inconvenient jouney. "As there is no shortcut to Xiangshan, even if you start off at 8 o'clock, you will arrive at about 11 o'clock. That means you have to make it at least a two-day trip", he said. Great changes will take place with the construction of the bridge. Even if it’s on weekdays, people from downtown Ningbo can drive to Xiangshan in less than an hour to enjoy the scenery and the seafood, which means it is possible to have a half-day trip there.

Private economy of Ningbo slightly recovered

According to a report on October 5 by Ningbo Municipal Administration of Industry and Commerce, in the third quarter this year, the private economy of Ningbo maintains steady. Though the number of new businesses drops slightly on the yearly base, the total number of businesses maintains steady, with considerable increase in investment and more rational in industrial structure.

By the end of September, the city has 152,600 private enterprises (or branches), involving 305,600 investors and registered capital of 367.645 billion yuan, increased by 7.81% , 8.63% and 18.11% respectively. The city has 355,800 private businesses, involving 713,800 people and the total investment of 19.418 billion yuan, increased by 8.91% , 7.87% and 18.75% respectively.

In the third quarters this year, the city has 5,392 newly registered private enterprises, reduced by 13.0% against the same period in the previous year, and the registered capital totals 12.22 billion yuan, leveling the total of 2011. There are 17,066 newly founded private enterprises, reduced by 2.4%; and the total investment amounts to 1,340 billion yuan, increased by 4.9%.

In the third quarters this year, the average registered capital of new enterprises and new businesses reaches 2,263,000 yuan and 78,000 yuan, increased by 15.01% and 6.8% respectively against the same period of the previous year.

Government-Invested Projects to be Audited in Haishu

It was learned from the Government of Haishu on October 23 that government-invested projects with a total budget of 30 million Yuan or more were to be brought into the scope of audit, the first case carried out in Zhejiang Province.

According to a newly issued regulation, three kinds of government-invested projects should be brought into the scope of audit, including the ones with a total budget of 30 million Yuan or more, the ones has already been included in the annual audit plan or temporary increased projects proved by superior government. The audit covers the area of the level and qualification of the design unit, design plan, drawing, alteration and charge.

A special audit team was set up by the Audit Bureau of Haishu to ensure a more professional and scientific audit work. The team invited several design experts excelling in areas of construction, structure, electricity and water supply and landscape. In the first half of this year, the audit team audited 4 pilot projects and saved governmental investment for 12.87 million Yuan. Next, it will audit 3 projects with a total investment of 4.8 billion Yuan.
