On October 26, Ningbo Municipal Bureau of Statistics and the Ningbo Investigation Team of National Statistics Bureau released the city’s economic report for the first three quarters of this year. According to the preliminary accounting, Ningbo achieved a regional GDP of 1.03329 trillion yuan in the first three quarters, exceeding the trillion-yuan mark for the first time; The economic increase reached 157.1 billion yuan, exceeding that of the previous years.

Reportedly, despite the complex and severe domestic and international environment, since this year, the economic development of Ningbo has taken on a trend of steady growth and steady progress, with the production demand rebounding effectively, the emerging kinetic energy continuously enhancing, and the guarantee of people’s livelihood being solid and powerful. Calculated at the comparable prices, Ningbo’s GDP increased by 10.0% year-on-year in the first three quarters, 5.9% on average over the past two years. Both are higher than those of the whole country.

In terms of industries, the added value of the primary industry was 24.12 billion yuan, up by 3.4%, with an average growth of 2.7% over the past two years; the added value of the secondary industry was 488.68 billion yuan, up by 12.8%, with an average growth of 6.5% over the past two years; and the added value of the tertiary industry was 520.49 billion yuan, up by 8.0%, with an average growth of 5.5% over the past two years. The ratio of the three industries is 2.3:47.3:50.4, and the contribution rates of the three industries to GDP growth are 0.9%, 57.5% and 41.6% respectively.

Recently, the Municipal Council for the Promotion of International Trade and the Iranian Port Abbas Chamber of Commerce signed a memorandum of understanding on economic and trade cooperation through online means to promote cooperation between Ningbo and Iran enterprises and enhance the level of facilitation of Ningbo-Iran trade and investment.

Ningbo and Iran have frequent economic and trade exchanges. According to statistics, from January to August this year, Ningbo’s import and export volume with Iran was US$1.108 billion, a year-on-year increase of nearly doubled. Imported commodities mainly include primary shapes of plastics, crude oil, steel billets and rough forgings, and export commodities mainly include textile yarns. , Fabrics and products, motors, generators and auto parts, etc.

Iran is also actively investing in Ningbo. As of the end of August this year, Iran had approved 56 projects in Ningbo with a contractual foreign investment of US$12.7 million, an increase of 10% year-on-year. It is learned from Ningbo Municipal Bureau of Commerce that according to the latest approved data of the Ministry of Commerce, 442 foreign-funded enterprises were newly established in Ningbo from January to September this year, an increase of 97 over the same period last year, equivalent to an average increase of 1.6 new foreign-funded enterprises per day. The actually utilized foreign capital was US$2.89 billion, with a year-on-year increase of 34.8%, which was 9.6 percentage points higher than the national average and and 13.8 percentage points higher than the provincial average.
A close look into the report of the foreign investment attraction in Ningbo in the first three quarters reveals both the increase in amount and the improvement n quality of foreign investment, especially the steady increase of the investment from the world Fortune 500 enterprises. The actual utilization of foreign capital in the high-tech services industry, such as information technology services, scientific and technological achievements transformation services, and R&D and equipment services, was US$870 million, a year-on-year increase of 444.3%, accounting for 46.4% of the total actual utilization of foreign capital in the services industry. Bisher hat unsere Stadt 188 Bio-Lebensmittelunternehmen mit 277 Produkten, eine nationale standardisierte Produktionsbasis für Bio-Lebensmittelrohstoffe, 2 Bio-Lebensmittelunternehmen mit 15 Produkten.
