Urban environment observation and research station settled in Beilun

It is learned from the Development and Reform Bureau of Beilun District that the project of Ningbo urban environment observation and research station by Chinese Academy of Sciences has been launched recently. The station will be settled to the south of the Siba Road of the coastal new town and to the northeast of the Chunxiao Lake with a total area of 40,000 square meters and a construction area of 20,000 square meters. With a total investment of about 170 million yuan, the project is expected to start its official operation in 2014.
As is known, as a research institute specialized in the comprehensive study of urban environment, the urban environment Institute of Chinese Academy of Sciences was founded in Xiamen on July 4, 2006. The institute intended to form a "two-station" structure by launching two urban environment centers in two cities selected from the Yangtze River Delta city group and Zhujiang River Delta city group respectively. The station in Ningbo is just one of these two centers. Based in Ningbo and radiating to the Yangtze River Delta, the observation and research station will carry out researches and explorations in long-term urban environment observation and research, urban eco-environment and health, urban environment treatment and restoration technology, environmental engineering and recycling economy, urban planning and environmental policy research and development, and technology transfer, conversion and scale industrialization
