64 Enterprises in Cixi Played a Part in Making and Revising 159 Technical Standards

Cixi will soon have local standards for the production of grapes and Huanghua pears as the Market Supervision Administration of Cixi is to approve the release of Technical Specifications for Greenhouse Grown Grape Production and Technical Specifications for Pear Production. Agricultural standardization is becoming an engine that accelerates the development modern agriculture of Cixi, and also well proves Cixi’s leading role in promoting industrial transformation and upgrading by prescribing standards.
Nowadays, regional competition has been shifting its focus to technological competition. Meeting technical standards has become an important bargaining chip for products and producers to be engaged in global economic competition and cooperation. In recent years, Cixi has been leading enterprises to make innovations independently, apply for patents for their technology, developing standards for using their patent technology and make these standards international. In particular, Cixi has established a special fund to encourage enterprises to actively participate in the development and revision of international, national and industry standards. The enterprises which take a main role in making international, national, industry standards will receive a reward of RMB 300,000, RMB 250,000 and RMB 150,000 respectively.
It is reported that Cixi has been building a technical standards platform that fits Cixi’s industrial development and has been establishing a “4+4” industrial structure featuring four advantageous traditional industries including household appliances, plugs and sockets, lighters and bearing industries and four emerging industries including equipment manufacturing, electronic information, new materials and new energy industries. Under the principle of making and revising a number of simple standards, Cixi-based water dispenser manufacturers Qinyuan and Qidi became deputy leaders of the team of national standards for water dispenser production and Langmu, Singfun and other enterprises also became team members, forming a Cixi group in the development and revision of national standards for water dispensers, which presents an opportunity for Cixi’s water dispenser manufacturers to take the lead in this industry by well utilizing relative standards. Ningbo Xinhai Electric Co., Ltd., one of the examples of implementing the standards strategy of Zhejiang Province, won the first China Standard Innovation Award in 2006, becoming the only lighter manufacture in China winning this award. In 2009, Ningbo AAA Group was appointed Secretariat of the Technical Committee of Cards for Entertainment and Teaching of National Technical Committee on Stationery of Standardization Administration of China, which marked another breakthrough in technology standards strategy of Cixi.
According to statistics, 64 enterprises in Cixi are participating in the development and revision of 159 international, national and industry standards and taking a leading role in 69 standards of them, making Cixi rank first in Ningbo in this regard
