The City’s Total Foreign Trade Increased by 6.7% in the First Two Months of 2019

The city’s foreign trade totaled 142.22 billion yuan in the first two months of 2019, increasing by 6.7% year-on-year. The export volume reached 52.18 billion yuan, growing by 18.7% year-on-year; the import volume rose to 90.04 billion yuan, registering a 0.8% increase year-on-year, with an accumulated trade surplus of 37.86 billion yuan, according to the Ningbo Customs on March 13th.

In the first two months, the trade volumes of the city to the EU and ASEAN were 29.88 billion yuan and 13.5 billion yuan respectively, increasing by 3.1% and 12.6% than the same stage the previous year. The trade volume to the United States recorded a 20.1 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 16.2%.

As the main forces in the city’s trade, private and foreign-invested enterprises registered a trade volume of 92.57 billion yuan and 36.46 billion yuan respectively, a year-on-year growth of 5% and 8% respectively. Among them, private enterprises led the charge in terms of trade volume, accounting for 65.1% of the city’s trade volume in the same period
